“Debt is Slavery” Wins Bronze Medal

SEATTLE, WA — Debt is Slavery: and 9 Other Things I Wish My Dad Had Taught Me About Money has won the 2009 Axiom Business Book Awards Bronze Medal in the “Personal Finance” category.

“It’s an honor to have Debt is Slavery chosen as one of the top business books produced by independent publishers,” says Michael Mihalik, author of Debt is Slavery.

Debt is Slavery takes a unique approach to personal finance by focusing on changing the way people think about money. The book uses the author’s personal experiences to illustrate the ten techniques he created and used to gain control of his finances, pay off his debt, and create financial security.

“I accumulated a large amount of debt using credit cards and other loans to finance a lifestyle I couldn’t afford,” says Mihalik.  “I tried to budget but didn’t make any progress until I discovered I couldn’t change the way I handled my finances until I changed the way I thought about money.  I came up with ten rules that literally transformed my relationship with money and changed my life.”

“With today’s uncertain economy, there’s no better time for people to regain control of their finances and free themselves from the shackles of debt.”

Debt is Slavery is published by October Mist Publishing and is available at Amazon, www.DebtIsSlavery.com and your local bookstore.

The Axiom Awards are presented by Jenkins Group, a Michigan-based company that has been involved in book publishing, marketing and distribution since 1988.  Since 1996, Jenkins Group has presented awards to books by business publishers, entrepreneurs and experts in the fields of business, economics and finance through their popular Independent Publisher Book Awards.  A winner in their 1997 awards contest was The Millionaire Next Door, which has sold more than 2.5 million copies.
